Terms of Service

The agreement between you and Friday Research Ltd when you use FRIDAY.

Last updated: 20 April 2026 · Version 1.0.0

1. About these terms

These are the terms on which we provide FRIDAY to you. FRIDAY is operated by Friday Research Ltd ("we", "us"), a company registered in England & Wales. By creating an account, installing the browser extension, or using the FRIDAY webapp at heyfriday.app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. The service

FRIDAY is a personal shopping assistant. It uses a browser extension to learn from your shopping history on supported retailers and provides chat, recommendations, search, and store-discovery features through the FRIDAY webapp. The exact features available may change over time as we improve the product.

FRIDAY surfaces products from third-party retailers. We are not the seller of those products. Your purchase, return, refund, warranty, and shipping arrangements are between you and the retailer. FRIDAY does not guarantee price, availability, quality, or accuracy of third-party product information.

3. Your account

You must be 16 or older to use FRIDAY. You are responsible for keeping your account and your PI Recovery Key safe. If you lose your PI Recovery Key, we cannot recover it for you, and your encrypted personal data may become permanently unrecoverable.

You agree to provide accurate information during sign-up and to notify us if you suspect your account has been compromised.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use FRIDAY in a way that breaks the law or infringes anyone's rights.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or other users' accounts.
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, or stress-test the service except as expressly permitted by these terms or by law.
  • Use FRIDAY to send unsolicited messages, spam, or harmful content.
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone.
  • Use automated systems to make excessive requests or interfere with the service for other users.

5. Privacy

Our collection and use of your personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. By using FRIDAY you acknowledge that policy.

6. Intellectual property

FRIDAY, the FRIDAY name, the FRIDAY logo, the extension, the webapp, and all related software are owned by Friday Research Ltd and protected by copyright, trade mark, and other laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use FRIDAY for your personal, non-commercial use.

Product images, brand names, store logos, and product information surfaced through FRIDAY belong to their respective owners and are shown for product discovery purposes only.

7. Recommendations and AI output

FRIDAY's recommendations and chat replies are generated using machine learning and third-party language models. They may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. You should not rely on FRIDAY's output as professional advice (financial, medical, legal or otherwise). We do not guarantee any particular outcome from using the service.

8. Service availability

We aim to keep FRIDAY available, but we do not promise uninterrupted access. We may suspend or restrict access for maintenance, updates, security, or other operational reasons. We are not liable for losses caused by service unavailability except where required by law.

9. Disclaimer

FRIDAY is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties, conditions, and representations of any kind, whether express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Nothing in this section limits any non-excludable rights you have under the laws of your country of residence.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Friday Research Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or in connection with your use of FRIDAY.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or in connection with FRIDAY shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or one hundred pounds sterling (GBP 100), whichever is greater.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.

11. Termination

You may close your account at any time from the extension's account settings, or by emailing us. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms or if we are required to by law. On termination we will delete your account data as described in our Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date and version stamp at the top of this page show the most recent change. For material changes we will give you reasonable notice in-app or by email before they take effect. Continued use of FRIDAY after a change means you accept the updated terms.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except that if you are a consumer resident in the European Union or the United Kingdom you also have the benefit of any mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence.
